The North Atlantic Alliance will send two aircraft of long -range radar detection and AWACS control to monitoring the military activity of Russia. This is stated in a message published by NATO.

aircraft will arrive in the Shaulyai area September 28.

The official representative of the Alliance Dylan White said that after the Russian attack on Ukraine in the Baltic region there is an increase in tension.

“AWACS can be detected by other planes and missiles at a distance of hundreds of kilometers,” said White.

NATO aircraft will be sent to Lithuania from the German air base in Gailkirhen. In general, 150 military personnel will arrive in Lithuania, who will stay in the country for at least a few weeks.

With the beginning of the conflict in Ukraine in February 2022, AWACS aircraft made hundreds of flights in Eastern Europe in order to observe Russian fighters.
