Negotiations Between Iran And United States Will Continue In Oman

The fourth round between Iran and the United States will be held in Oman on May 11.

Speaking to the local media, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Erakchi announced that the date of nuclear negotiations between Iran and the USA, which were postponed last week, has already been determined.

He stated that the receiving side of Oman determined the time and place of negotiations.

“At the moment, negotiations are planned to be held on Sunday of May 11. We are waiting for the coordination with the Oman of the time of the start of negotiations,” the minister said.

As for the negotiations, Erakchi added: “The negotiations are advancing, and, of course, the more progress we will achieve, the more consultations and reviews we need. In addition, the committees will take more time to consider the raised issues, but it is important that we are moving along the path on which we gradually move on to details.”

Iranian Foreign Minister Erakchi will visit Saudi Arabia on May 10, and after contacts in Riyadh will go to Qatar.

The negotiation process between Iran and the USA

US President Donald Trump, unilaterally left the nuclear transaction with Iran in 2018, sent a letter to the Iranian leader Ali Hamenya in March, in which he called for direct nuclear negotiations with Iran and contained threats.

Iran answered the letter through Oman.

After sending a letter, Tehran and Washington held indirect negotiations first in Oman on April 12, then in Rome and again in Oman with a difference of a week. Iran and the United States reported progress in negotiations.

The fourth round of negotiations was supposed to take place in Rome on May 3, but the Foreign Minister Oman Bed Bin Hamed al-Busidi, who acted as an intermediary in negotiations, said that negotiations were postponed for “logistics reasons”.
