Nepal Climber Broke His Own Record, Conquering Everest For 31st Time

Nepalic climber Kami Rita again set a record, conquering the highest peak of the world, Everest, for the 31st time.

Kami Rita first rose to Everest in 1994 and has since almost annually been coming. Thanks to his last achievement, he again confirmed the title of man who most often conquered Everest.

According to the SEVEN Summit Treks, which organized the expedition, Rita, who is an experienced Sherpa, brought the climbers to the top in the morning in local hours.

He reached a peak of 8848 meters above sea level for the 31st time, having broken his own record. The closest pursuer of Rita remains Pasang Dava, who conquered Everest 29 times.

This season, hundreds of climbers are attempting to climb Everest from the south side located on the territory of Nepal. The most suitable time for expeditions falls on April and May, when weather conditions are more stable and favorable for climbing.

Sherpas are the indigenous people of the Himalayas living between Nepal and Tibet. In Western languages, the word “Sherpa” is often used as a synonym for a mountain guide, since representatives of this people have exceptional skills in the mountains and often accompany foreign climbers on the ascent routes.
