At midnight local time in Israel, the period of 28 days, allotted by Benjamin Netanyahu to negotiate the creation of the ruling coalition. On Wednesday, President Reuven Rivinen will consult with the leaders of parliamentary parties to decide how to act further. He has several options – he can give Netanyahu for another 14 days, and can give 28 days to form a coalition to another policy (the most likely candidate in this case is the leader of the Centrist City Atid (“Future”) of Yair Lapid. But the likelihood that at least someone will succeed, it is extremely small, writes the Russian BBC service.
If all negotiations are fruitless, Israel is waiting for fifth elections in two years. After the three previous ones, it was not possible to put the coalition of the majority. It was still a coalition once again, but it existed only seven months, which led to March elections.
