New commander of Russian contingent in Karabakh was appointed

Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the RF Armed Forces, Colonel General Alexander Lentsov was appointed new commander of the Russian peacekeeping contingent temporarily placed in the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan.

This is stated in the message of the Russian Ministry of Defense.

Lentsov will replace Major General Andrei Volkov in this post.

Alexander Lentsov participated in hostilities in Chechnya and Syria.
