New Type Of Dinosaurs Has Been Discovered 86 Million Years Old

Researchers from Canada, Japan and Mongolia discovered a new type of dinosaurs with a age of 86 million years, which is described as the “closest famous ancestor” of the Tyrannosaurus family, which includes the new Tyrannosaurus (T-Rex).

Researchers from Canada, Japan and Mongolia analyzed two fragments of the skeleton of the dinosaur found in Mongolia in the 1970s, whose age is claimed to be 86 million years.

Researchers re-studied fossil, which was originally considered a well-known species called “ALECTROSAURURUS”, and said that it is a “closest famous ancestor” of the family of tyrannosaurs, including t-rem.

Scientists called this species, which, according to them, “rewrote the story” of the family of tyrannosaurs, “khankhuuluu mongoliensis”, which means “Prince-Drads of Mongolia.”

According to BBC, Professor Darla Zelenitsky from the University of Kalgary in Canada, one of the authors of the study, said that this type of tyrannosaurus weighed about 750 kilograms, while adult tyrannosaurs were considered about 8 times more.

Zelenitsky said that Khankhuulu Mongoliensis may belong to the “transitional” period of the Tyrannosaurus family, which include TI-RECS from their first ancestors, which are characterized as “tyrannosauroid”.

Jared Voris, a graduate student and co -author of the study, noted that this species was a small, quickly running predator, and the nasal bone “Khankhuuluu Mongoliensis” has a structure that indicates that it evolves into powerful jaws of later tyrannosaurs.

The results of the study are published in the journal “Nature”.
