In the northwestern state of Kebby in Nigeria, 15 people were killed as a result of an armed attack by militants on farmers, three more were injured. This was reported by local media.
The incident occurred in the Dango-Vasagu district. According to the press, farmers were sent to the fields when they were attacked by militants from the Lakurawa group.
Deputy Governor of Kebby Umar Tafida visited the place of tragedy and expressed condolences to the families of the dead. He assured that the authorities would take the necessary measures to ensure the safety of agricultural women and give farmers the opportunity to return to work.
Lakurawa group was officially recognized as a terrorist in January of this year. Nigeria continues to face the attacks of armed groups and terrorist groups, including Boko Haram and ISWAP.
