The Nigerian Army neutralized 19 members of an armed gang in operations carried out in Kano State in the north of the country.
Deputy Director of Army Public Relations Babatunde Zubairu said the army foiled an attempted attack by members of an armed gang in Kano State.
He said operations have since been carried out against members of armed gangs in towns in Kano State.
Zubairu said that in During the operations, 19 members of the armed gang were killed, and many of them were wounded and fled.
Nigeria has long faced attacks by armed gangs, as well as the terrorist organizations Boko Haram and the West African Daesh ISWAP cell in various parts of the country.
