Nikol Pashinyan: Yerevan is interested in unlocking communications with Azerbaijan

Armenia is interested and committed to statements of November 9, 2020 and January 11, 2021, which concern the discovery, unlocking all transport and economic relations in the region. This was stated by the Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, during a meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Alexey Overchuk, Interfax reports.

According to him, Armenia is interested in opening and unlocking regional transport and economic communications.

“Yerevan is ready to make specific solutions provided that Armenia will receive automotive and railway communications in Azerbaijan, and Azerbaijan – railway and automotive communications in Armenia. This concerns the roads connecting Azerbaijan with the Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic,” said Nikol Pashinyan.

According to the Armenian premier, the railway and automotive communications that existed during the USSR should be restored.

“We are ready to go on such solutions. We have specific suggestions. It is important to emphasize that in accordance with the statement of January 11, 2021 we must also discuss the issues of customs, phytosanitary, border and other possible types of control. This is What was recorded in our statements. Armenia is interested, ready and, we hope that in the near future it will be possible to come to specific solutions, and we are configured constructively, “said Armenian Prime Minister.
