The number of people who died as a result of the collapse of the boat with illegal migrants off the coast of the Southern Yemeni Province of Abyan reached 55 people. This was announced by the head of the health department of the district Zinjibar Abdulkadir Bajmil in an interview with Anadol. All bodies were devoted to the Earth, but dozens of people, including migrants from Ethiopia, are still listed as missing. According to preliminary data, there were more than 100 people on board.
Search and rescue work in the tragedy area continues. Earlier, sources in security forces reported 20 dead and dozens of missing.
Yemen remains one of the main transit points for illegal migrants from the countries of the African horn, primarily Ethiopia and Somalia. Many of them seek to get through Yemen to the Gulf countries, especially in Saudi Arabia.
