Number Of Flood Victims In Texas Increased To 119 People

In the Kerr City of the American state Texas, the number of those killed as a result of destructive floods caused by heavy rains on July 4 increased to 119 people. This was reported by local authorities.

The largest number of victims was recorded in the Kerr district – according to official figures, 95 people were killed there, among them 36 children. The element was caused by a sudden spill of the Guadalup river after pouring rains in the southern part of the state.

The Governor of Texas Greg Ebbott on social networks X said that all possible resources were involved in the elimination of the disaster. About 50 thousand people were in the flooding zone. Search and rescue operations continue.

US President Donald Trump signed a decree on the recognition of the Kerr County Zone.

The local republican authorities accused the National Meteorological Service (NWS) of insufficiently timely warnings. According to them, the forecasts were inaccurate, and the service itself was weakened by a reduction in financing within the framework of the economy policy carried out by the Trump administration.
