Number of people who died after destruction of Kakhovskaya hydroelectric station in Ukraine increased to 46

The number of people who died after the destruction of the Kakhovsky hydroelectric power station and large -scale flooding of territories in the Kherson region of Ukraine to 46 people grew.

TASS on Thursday was reported in emergency services. “According to the latest data, 46 people were killed, 122 people were injured, they were hospitalized with hypothermia and other injuries,” the agency’s interlocutor said.

Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station in the Kherson region of Ukraine was destroyed on the morning of June 6. The parties impose responsibility for the breakthrough of the dam.

Ukrainian media reports that the country’s government allocated 565 million hryvnias to help the victims due to flooding in the Kherson and Nikolaev regions.

The Ministry of Agricultural Policy of Ukraine said that the destruction of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station can lead to the fact that the fields in the south of Ukraine will turn into deserts next year.

“The terrorist act at the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station actually left without a water source 94 percent of irrigation systems in Kherson, 74 percent in Zaporizhzhya and 30 percent in the Dnipropetrovsk regions,” follows the message.
