Number of victims of landslide gathering in Ecuador increased to 51 people

The number of victims of the landslide, which went in the town of Alausi in the Ecuador state of Chimboruso on March 27, increased to 51.

This was reported in the National Secretariat of Risk Management of a Latin American country.

Search and rescue work is ongoing. The authorities suggest that under the rubble there are 37 more bodies.

As a result of the landslide gathering, 163 houses were damaged, 57- completely destroyed.

According to local media, the landslide provoked cracks in the mountains.

Work is carried out to resume traffic on closed routes.

March 30 in Chimboruso, an emergency was announced.
