“Omicron” got to India

In India, two omikron coronavirus infected by the new strain was identified, the representative of the Ministry of Health Love Agarval reported on Thursday, RIA Novosti reports.

According to the representative of the Ministry of Health, there are currently two cases of the “Oomikron” strain. Both cases found in the state of Karnataka.

It is noted that this is the first case of the detection of this strain in India. Ill – Two men aged 66 and 46 years.

“Omikron strain was identified as a result of research in the Consortium on the genomics of SARS-COV-2 (Insacog) – a consortium of 37 government laboratories studying the virus gene,” said the Director General of the Indian Council of Medical Research Barrah Bargawa.
