The Turkish soldier died as a result of a mortar shelling on the border of Turkey and Syria, reports the Ministry of National Defense of the country.
The incident occurred in the Jizra district in the province of Shirnak in the south-east of Turkey. The dead served in the infantry. Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar expressed condolences to his family.
