On Thursday, September 1, from five in the morning local time, Russian troops are conducting a continuous artillery shelling of the city of Energodar (captured by Russia), said Energodar mayor Dmitry Orlov.
“From five in the morning, constant mortar shelling of the city does not stop. Right -off lines are heard. It is known about getting into several civilian objects. There are victims! How much, we find out,” Orlov wrote in his telegram channel.
Local residents are also reported about the shelling of Energodar on social networks.
At the same time, the Russian Interfax agency, citing its correspondent, claims that the Ukrainian military was fired. According to the agency, in Energodar there were at least five hits into residential houses and a kindergarten building, there are dead and wounded. The authorities of Energodar controlled by Russia accuse Ukraine.
Also in Energodar, according to the statement of the authorities controlled by Russia, a group of Ukrainian landing landed in the morning, after which Russian aviation hit it.
The city is located in the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant – the largest nuclear station in Europe. Today it should be visited by a delegation of IAEA experts, led by the head of the organization Rafael Grossy.
