One of richest countries of world drowned in garbage

United Arab Emirates (UAE), which are one of the richest countries of the world due to major reserves of hydrocarbons and developed tourism, drowned in their own landfills. The state took for the construction of processing plants of accumulated waste, reports Bloomberg.

In Dubai, a processing enterprise worth $ 1.1 billion is erected. The plant will burn garbage and generate electricity for the city. The enterprise is smaller – the first in the UAE of an industrial scale – will be opened in the Sharjah Emirate in 2021. Within the framework of the Liquidation Program, two more projects are preparing in the city of Abu Dhabi. After the launch of all recycling companies, the country will process 60 percent of household waste.

For Sharjah, the opening of the plant will mean that a large dump of Bee’ah will be closed there. The company that is engaged in the waste of the Emirate, promises to create landscaled space on the site of the polygon and establish a solar power plant with a capacity of 120 megawatt.

Country can still face some problems in the fight against landfills, the publication claims. In the UAE there are many facilities for sorting and processing building materials, tires and electronics, but few enterprises that can convert household waste to new products. In addition, experts argue that the burning of garbage prevents the formation of landfills, but at the same time provokes additional emissions of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere.

Developing the activities of the UAE on garbling recycling provoked by China’s refusal from waste disposal, which it has been overlooking its territory from around the world. In addition, Turkish plastic processing plants face environmental activists to terminate the import of foreign raw materials due to disorders of environmental legislation and large-scale pollution.
