Only 8 Percent Of Population Of Poland Believe That Their Country Is Ready For War With Russia

The results of a survey conducted in Poland show that only 8 percent of the population believe that their country is ready for war with Russia, and 9 percent believe that the army is equipped enough for such a scenario.

The survey was conducted by IBRIS to study public opinion for the Defense24 news site and the Stand with Ukraine Foundation, reports Polish public television company TVP World.

Seventy -five percent of the respondents said that NATO should strengthen their eastern flank.

Twelve percent of the respondents announced the high probability of Russia’s attack on Poland, and 23 percent agreed to voluntarily take up arms if their country was attacked.

Sixty -seven percent of the respondents said that Poland should help if Russia attacks the country of NATO, and 57 percent believe that the United States will help if their country is attacked.

During the survey, only 8 percent of the Poles said that they consider the country ready for war with Russia, and 9 percent of the respondents said that they consider the army enough equipped for such a scenario.

Ukraine

As for the war in Ukraine, 52 % of the respondents said that Poland should provide the country with political support at international sites, and 35 % – that Poland should continue economic support.

Thirty -seven percent of the respondents supported the membership of Ukraine in NATO, and 35 percent – the membership of Ukraine in the European Union (EU).

While 5 % of respondents believe that military assistance to Ukraine should be increased, 35 % stated that it should remain at the current level, and 46 % – that it should be reduced or completely stopped.

Most of the respondents said that, in their opinion, the war can last for years. The number of those who believe that Ukraine has a high probability of victory remains very low.
