President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva visited the Victory Memorial in Baku and took part in the opening of the Victory Museum.

The Victory Museum was created in accordance with the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev “On the creation of the Patriotic War Memorial Complex and the Victory Museum in the city of Baku” signed in December 2020 in order to demonstrate the unparalleled heroism shown by the Azerbaijani people and the grandiose Victory they won. in the Patriotic War, perpetuating the blessed memory of our martyrs.
The museum’s exhibition is developed on the basis of international experience and museum concepts existing in the world, as well as using the latest technologies. 8 exhibition halls have been created here: “Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur. History of centuries”, “Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict. A look at history”, “44-day Patriotic War. Operation Iron Fist”, “Glorious Victory. Liberation of the city of Shusha”, “Path of Heroes”, “Karabakh is Azerbaijan!”, “Restoration of state sovereignty. 09/20/2023”, “Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur. Revival.”
The presented facts, photo and video materials, interactive presentations, as well as exhibits and models specially prepared for this museum not only fully convey to visitors the truth about the conflict, information about the course of the 44-day Patriotic War, the restoration of state sovereignty as a result of the glorious Victory, but also give everyone the opportunity to relive these events.
At the entrance to the museum there is the installation “Iron Fist”, which became a symbol of the historical Victory, excerpts from the speech of the victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief, President Ilham Aliyev are given. On the wall surrounding the museum, as a sign of respect, the names of the heroes who died in the 44-day Patriotic War are carved. Water flowing along the wall, as an inexhaustible source of life, symbolizes that the martyrs have gained immortality with their heroism and always live in the hearts of Azerbaijanis. The halls of the museum depict the names of the martyrs who died in Karabakh before the Patriotic War and after Victory Day.
The museum also has an Auditorium, a library and a cafe. It is planned to hold seminars and conferences in the Auditorium, as well as various public events. The museum’s library presents books, research materials about the history, cultural heritage of Azerbaijan, the past Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict, as well as restoration and development. Karabakh. The collected materials about the martyrs, as well as documentaries about the heroes of the Patriotic War, are planned to be placed in the museum’s database in the future.
The Victory Museum will be open to visitors from November 9.
