Opposition reached an agreement on government without Netanyahu

Head of the Israeli Center for the “Yamina” party, the former defense minister Naftali Bennett said that his party would join the coalition government without Binjamina Netanyahu. The leader of the opposition to Yair Lapidu, which was given on May 5, 28 days for the formation of a coalition “government of change”, the path to the premiere chair opens. It is reported by the Russian BBC service.

“I will do everything possible to form the government of national unity with Lapid,” said the head of the right party, whose decision can define the fate of Netanyahu.

Earlier, Bennet held a meeting with members of the Yamina faction, almost all the participants of which approved cooperation with Lapid and its “block of change” – the coalition of parties seeking to shift Netanyahu.

Yamina, which is the Alliance of Right Movements, only six chairs in the 120-seater Knesset, but this is enough for the creation of a coalition to depend on its solution, which means the future of the 12-year premier Netanyahu.

According to Israeli media, the parties reached an agreement, under the terms of which 49-year-old Bennet will be the Prime Minister for two years, and then give this place to Lupid for another two years before the new parliamentary elections.

On Sunday, before the statement of Bennet, the party’s leaders sent “Likuda” an ultimatum with the requirement to reply, if Netanyahu has a real opportunity to form a coalition. If not, the party can agree to the alliance with his rivals.

Netanyahu and members of his party responded to the application of Benneta critically. The acting prime minister himself said that Bennett began the “Afector of the Century” and that he was only interested in power.

Netanyahu said that he made a batch of Bennett a few “stunning” proposals that would help to stop the “dangerous left movement”. However, the former defense minister, according to the prime minister, “cares only about himself.”

Netanyahu in his speech again stated that the right Rotary government with Gideon Saar, which he had previously offered and from which Saar refused, could still be formed. And the current, which forms the Lapid, can create a threat to the national security of Israel.
