Overchuk told Pashinyan: opening of communications with Azerbaijan will give new opportunities for Armenia

“The establishment of transport communication between Armenia and Azerbaijan will change the entire transport configuration of the region. As a result of this, new opportunities for development will open before the Armenian economy, and the country will receive an additional positive impulse.” This was stated by the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, the head of the Russian working group for unlocking communications in the South Caucasus Alexei Overchuk during a meeting with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

The parties also discussed a number of issues regarding the activities of the tripartite working group of Deputy Prime Ministers of Armenia, Russia and Azerbaijan.

In turn, Pashinyan emphasized that the Armenian side is interested in the implementation of these works.

“You know how important this topic is for us, because when we crave all these issues, this will change the situation in the region not only in economic, but also in political, psychological, as well as in terms of security,” added Armenian prime minister.
