Pakistan: More Than 30 People Died Due To Floods Caused By Mousson Rains

In Pakistan, as a result of floods caused by strong monsoon rains, 33 people were killed in the last week, the Dawn newspaper reports with reference to the Penjab Emergency Situations (PDMA).

according to the agency, 33 people were injured from August 23 to 31, and another 8 were injured. About 2 million people were injured, 506 humanitarian camps were created for them. Rescue teams evacuated 760 thousand people and 516 thousand animals in safe areas.

Earlier Emergency Situations of Pakistan (NDMA) reported 23 dead. The agency also warned that from September 1 to September 3 in Islamabad and various areas of Penjab, strong monsoon rains were expected, which could increase the risk of floods.

, Senior Minister Penjab Mariam Aurangzeb, described the incident as the “largest flood in the history of Penjab”, noting the record growth of the water level.
