Pakistan Prime Minister Shakhbaz Sharif said that the country has achieved a “historical victory” in the confrontation with India, which began after the strike of the Indian Armed Forces in the Pakistani territory on May 7. This was reported by local media.
In contacting the nation after the conclusion of the ceasefire agreement, Sharif thanked the armed forces for their actions in response to the aggression of India.
“This is the victory of our principles and our dignity. This is a victory not only of the army, but of the whole people,” the head of government said.

According to the Sharif, Pakistan was forced to answer the attacks of the Indian side directed against military facilities and water infrastructure of the country. “We decided to give an answer with a language that the enemy understands best. We made it clear: now negotiations will not be conducted at the table, but on the battlefield,” the Prime Minister emphasized.
The Pakistani leader also expressed gratitude to the United States, China, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Great Britain and the UN for their constructive role in resolving the conflict.
