Pakistan Requested An Emergency Meeting Of UN Security Council On Situation In Jamma And Kashmir

Pakistan sent an official appeal to the UN Security Council with a request to hold an emergency closed meeting in connection with the aggravation of the situation in Jamm and Kashmir, as well as an increase in tension in relations with India.

According to Pakistan’s permanent representation at the UN in a written statement transmitted by Anadol, the current situation poses a threat to regional and international security.

“Exacerbation of the tension between India and Pakistan, as well as the situation in Jammu and Kashmire threaten the world and stability in the region and beyond,” the document says.

The statement also notes that after the meeting, a briefing of the permanent representative of Pakistan at the UN Asima Iftihar Ahmed is expected.

Emergency meeting of the Security Council is scheduled for May 5 at 15.00 local time.
