Parliament of Kazakhstan ratified agreement on technical support of CSTO troops

Member of the Mazhilis (Parliament) of Kazakhstan adopted the Law “On ratification of the agreement on the joint material, technical and medical support of the troops (collective forces) of the Organization of Collective Security Treaty,” Kazinform reports.

“The agreement regulates the issues of interaction between states in organizing the material, technical and medical support of the groups of troops in the collaboration of the tasks of ensuring collective security, as well as during joint operations of operational and combat training,” said Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sultan Kamaletdinov to Mazhilis Plenary meeting, representing the bill.

In accordance with the agreement, the parties pursue an agreed military-technical policy aimed at providing troops with modern and compatible weapons, military and special equipment, as well as material means.

Material, technical and medical support of the grouping of troops is organized by the command of these groups and is carried out at the expense of each side independently.

“In the case when such provision of troops with the guide is difficult, it can be carried out at the expense of the resources of the receiving or other side on the basis of agreements between them. Ratification of the agreement will allow maintaining a high level of combat readiness of collective forces, ensuring adequate response to the challenges and threats of international security, ”added the deputy minister.
