Parliament of Kazakhstan ratified number of laws regarding activities of CSTO

The Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan approved the law on the ratification of the agreement on the joint logistics and medical support of the troops (collective forces) of the Collective Security Organization (CSTO), the press service of the upper house of the Parliament of the Republic. >

The meeting of the chamber took place under the chairmanship of the speaker of the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan Maulen Ashimbaev. The deputies examined and approved laws providing for the ratification of three international treaties.

In particular, the deputies considered the following laws: “On ratification of the protocol on amendments to the agreement on the peacekeeping activities of the organization of the collective security agreement of October 6, 2007”, “On ratification of the agreement on the issues of jurisdiction and the provision of legal assistance in cases related with the temporary stay of the forces and means of collective security systems in the territories of the states of the Organization of the Collective Security Treaty and “On the ratification of the agreement on the joint material, technical and medical support of the troops (collective forces) of the Collective Security Treaty.”

“The laws considered today are aimed at resolving certain issues relating to the activities of the organization of the collective security agreement. In particular, the possibility of applying the peacekeeping potential of the organization within the United Nations. In addition, laws establish the legal framework and conditions of interaction between member states In the field of legal assistance, material, technical and medical support. In general, we believe that laws will help increase the effectiveness of the organization’s tasks to strengthen peace and stability, ”the Chairman of the Chamber emphasized, commenting on approved laws.
