Jogorku Kenesh (Parliament of Kyrgyzstan) on December 20 adopted a bill on changing the flag of the country in the second and third readings, the press service of the highest legislative body of the republic.

The initiators of the bill are the deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh Nurlanbek Shakiev and Ulan Primov.

The bill is aimed at improving one of the main state symbols of the country – the flag of the Kyrgyz Republic. It is proposed to change the shape of the rays on the flag of the Kyrgyz Republic from the wave -like to the uniform clearly resembling the rays of the sun.

“Due to the fact that today there is a dilemma in the visual perception of the rays of the Sun with Tundүk in the middle on the flag of the Kyrgyz Republic in different interpretations, such as the sunflower or leaf flower, it is necessary to take measures to eliminate the ambiguous interpretation of the image of the flag image” , – said the authors of the draft law whose words are cited by the Kyrgyz media.
