Pashinyan appeals to military of Armenia

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan held a meeting with the leadership of the Armenian army. Sputnik Armenia reports that the Prime Minister noted that the Armenian state and people are undergoing severe trials.

“No one can underestimate the unforgettable contribution made by generals, officers, sergeants and privates to the strengthening of the country,” Pashinyan said.

According to the prime minister, in the current situation, the military-political leadership needs to discuss, analyze and answer several questions, form a common vision of the development of the country’s Armed Forces. This vision should be based on the knowledge and experience of generals and officers, for whom army and service are not just theoretical terms, but everyday work and service.

Recalling that, according to the law, Onik Gasparyan’s term of office as head of the General Staff had already expired, Pashinyan thanked him for his many years of service.

Pashinyan said that he had already submitted a petition to the president to appoint Artak Davtyan to the post of head of the General Staff. The prime minister added that he will talk in more detail about this with the military during a meeting on the occasion of the presentation of the new chief of the General Staff.

“I want to ask all those present to continue their service in the ranks of the Armed Forces as generals, officers, as pillars of a structure that guarantors the security and territorial integrity of Armenia. I believe in you, I am convinced that the service that you served, you served it sincerely This service is worthy of the highest praise and this assessment can never, under any circumstances, be revised, “the Prime Minister of Armenia said.
