Pashinyan: CHASB does not exist

CIS countries should answer a number of questions before the organization’s status received the status of an observer, said Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at a meeting of the Council of Heads of the CIS Parties in Astana.

“I consider it important to decide on the following issues before making a decision. Does the CSTO recognize the state borders of the CIS countries, established in 1991 by the fundamental documents of the CIS? This is an important question, since we are talking about the area of responsibility of the CSTO and, let me say, about functionality of the organization itself. If you rely on the interpretation, according to which there are no boundaries between the CIS countries, since these boundaries are not divided, this means that the CSTO zone is not determined, that is, it does not exist. And this erodes the CSTO functionality, ”Pashinyan said .
