Pekovich Was Sentenced To 20 Years For Crimes Against Humanity During War In Bosnia And Herzegovina

The high court of Podgritz in Montenegro sentenced Slobodan Pekovich to 20 years in prison for committing crimes against humanity during the war of 1992-1995 in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The court’s written statement reports that Slobodan Pekovich, who previously bore the surname Kurchich, was sentenced to 20 years in prison for committing crimes against humanity for the murder of two Bosniye civilians in 1992, when war began in Bosnia and Herzegovin.

The case of Pekovich, arrested in 2021 in Danilovgrad (Montenegro), was transferred from Bosnia and Herzegovina, and an indictment was drawn up against him.

The indictment says that in 1992, Pekovich killed two Bosnian citizens in the village of Hum in Foche (Bosnia and Herzegovina) and set fire to their lifeless bodies. The indictment also notes that the accused committed a crime in the form of rape.
