In January-October 2021, 3 billion 848 million manat was sent to pay pensions, which is 3.1%, or 117 million manat more compared to the same period last year. The average monthly pension size increased by 10% to 331 manat, while the average monthly size of pensions by age increased by 8.5% to 358 manat.
Since the beginning of 2019, the appointment of pensions in Azerbaijan has become electronic. As a result, citizens may make pensions in proactive form through an electronic system without submitting applications and relevant documents. To date, 46 thousand people, including 20.3 thousand people in 10 months of 2021, was determined by a pension through an electronic system.
It is reported that the adoption of measures to strengthen the social protection of pensioners is the stable dynamics of the growth of the funds paid to them.
