The US Department of Defense (Pentagon) announced the decision to allow its civil servants to temporarily support the Ministry of Internal Security in matters of security of the border and migration policy.
According to the statement, the new measure provides that Pentagon employees will be able to temporarily promote security on the southern border of the country and the implementation of migration control.
The document emphasizes that this decision was made as part of the border security policy pursued by the presidential administration Donald Trump.
“Permission to the Pentagon Civil Employees to support DHS will speed up the progress already achieved in the implementation of our national security goals,” the statement says.
