Pentagon, John Kirby, said the United States does not want a nuclear escalation of the conflict in Ukraine and do not see reasons for such a development, RIA Novosti reports.
According to him, the rhetoric, which Washington continues to hear from Russian leaders, with the mention of the possibility of nuclear confrontation, is irresponsible.
“Of course, this is not what you expect to hear from the modern nuclear power,” Kirby said.
He added that the US military monitors the threat daily and do not see the grounds for taking additional measures.
