Permanent Representative Of Russian Federation At OPCHU Accused Ukraine Of Production Of Military Poisonous Substances

The Russian side records cases of the use of toxic chemicals and military poisonous substances. This statement was made by the Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation in the organization for the prohibition of chemical weapons (OPCO) Vladimir Tarabrin at the 109th session of the Executive Council of OPCHO.

The forefront noted that the situation around the use of chemical weapons in Ukraine “causes serious concern.”

“The Russian side continues to record not only cases of the use of toxic chemicals and military poisonous substances, but also the presence of an extensive system of their mass production in Ukraine,” said the constant representative of the Russian Federation, whose words are given by Russian media.

According to him, Russia turned to the organization with a request to provide technical assistance in connection with the detection of sets of home -made explosive devices with toxic chemicals in the territories released from Ukrainian formations.

“The use of the OPCU as a lever of pressure, the free interpretation of the provisions of the Convention is strictly unacceptable,” Tarabrin said, calling “all participating states to strictly observe the obligations of the KHO, respect the organization and its technical mandate.”
