The Kremlin representative Dmitry Peskov called the absurd and stupid decision of the Bulgarian authorities not to allow the flight of the aircraft with the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova on board to North Macedonia.
“Of course, a similar position of the Bulgarian authorities can hardly be explained by something – this is the first. The second – of course, it does not fit into any framework. Third – it is absolutely absurd and, one might even say, stupid,” – stupid ” – Said Peskov, whose words are given by Russian media.
The Kremlin representative urged the Bulgarian leadership “still try to maintain sobriety in the decisions from the last forces.”
Earlier, the Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov arrived in Skopye to participate in the Council of Foreign Affairs of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe. At the same time, the Bulgarian side refused to fly to the aircraft of the Russian minister, if the official representative of the Foreign Ministry of the Russian Federation Maria Zakharova is on board.
Zakharova herself, also flying in the Russian delegation, called this decision of the Bulgarian side “dangerous stupidity.”
