Peskov: Russia does not refuse to meet Putin and Zelensky

Moscow does not refuse to meet the presidents of the Russian Federation and Ukraine Vladimir Putin and Vladimir Zelensky, but it is impossible to conduct it without preparation. This was reported to reporters by the presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov on Friday, TASS writes.

“The position here has not changed in any way. You know the position of the Russian president well: no one a priori refuses the possibility of such a meeting, but it should be prepared,” said the Kremlin representative.

The spokeswoman for the head of the Russian state emphasized that “preparation for this meeting can and should be expressed exclusively in the development of the relevant document, an agreement that should then be finalized at the highest level.” He emphasized that “without such preparatory actions, it is hardly possible to hold a meeting.”

As for the preparation of such a document, according to Peskov, there is no progress in this direction. “With the document, we have already said while there is no movement,” he said. “Our conditions are well known, they are clearly formulated and laid on paper, all this is transmitted to the Ukrainian side. There is no answer,” concluded the Kremlin representative.
