Peskov: There were no specific proposals from EU leaders in contacts with Putin

Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov said that there were no specific proposals from the EU leaders in contacts with the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, but the Russian side was “open to the dialogue.”

Peskov reported this in an interview with RT.

According to him, the Kremlin heard statements by France President Emmanuel Macron and Chancellor of Germany Olaf Sholts about the need to maintain contacts with the Russian Federation, but there were no specific proposals.

.

“We heard the statements recently – and the statements of Mr. Sholtz, the statements of Mr. Macron – that we need to maintain the channels of communication with the Russian Federation, including at the highest level. Moscow shares this position,” said Peskov.

Peskov emphasized that the President of the Russian Federation “is ready for any contacts for the sake of business, for the sake of solving problems.” Peskov added that Putin is open to the dialogue, “but there are still no specific sentences.”

The Kremlin representative said that the “special military operation” has now actually became a war with the collective West.

“Indeed, a special military operation began against Ukraine, against the Kiev regime, in order to ensure the safety of the people of Donbass. This is really so. Now it is already continuing the war between Moscow and the collective West,” he said.

Peskov believes that “Ukraine has no sovereign position, everyone dictates the United States.”

“Ukraine has no sovereignty. Ukraine has no will, no desire, nor the opportunity to declare some sovereign position. Ukraine is dictated, what needs to be done, from Washington,” said the Kremlin representative.

Peskov said that NATO intervention in conflict in Ukraine complicates the situation, but the Russian Federation will continue military operations and “achieve its goals.”

He also emphasized. that Russia intends to continue to develop relations with the countries of the Arab world and specifically Persian Gulf, including in the energy sector.

“Russia will continue to interact with many states of the Arab world, first of all, the countries of the Persian Gulf, in efforts to ensure fair energy prices, primarily for oil. I mean the OPEC+format,” said Peskov.

According to him, a period of serious transformation is now observed, which “includes changes in the rules of the game in economics, politics, international law.” Peskov noted that Moscow will support the Arab countries, and Russia, and China, and other states in this matter are united and have similar positions.
