The United States of America and the American President Donald Trump are balanced in the conflict in Ukraine. This was stated by the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov.
“Americans and President Trump are very balanced in his approach. It is clear that everything is not simple, it is clear that everything is more likely, but such a difficult substance associated with the settlement of the problems of the root causes of the Ukrainian conflict, which, of course, is required [time], the work is being carried out,” said Peskov, whose words are given by Russian media.
According to him, the Russian and American sides should not and cannot agree in everything.
“certain discrepancies will always be. But there is a political will to fulfill the agreements that are achieved. The work continues. And we highly value this mutual readiness,” the representative of the Kremlin emphasized.
Speaking about the influence of the possible new US sanctions against the Russian Federation on the negotiation process, Peskov said that some kind of “Evening reasoning is unlikely to be appropriate”.
“There are many plums, we see that a large number of media de facto take part in a campaign that is aimed at disrupting the peace process, which aims to make Americans to introduce new sanctions,” said the Kremlin spokesman.
“We see this, this is all visible to the naked eye. We are aware of [this] report,” he added.
Peskov also commented on the supply of weapons by the West and the influence of such initiatives on the negotiation process.
“We see that Europe is mediated participating: weapons are continuing, this is indirect participation in the war against Russia. We are all witnesses to the ongoing discussions regarding the possibilities of the emergence of” European contingents, “the Kremlin representative said.” Of course, this behavior of Europeans in no way contributes to a peaceful settlement, “he emphasized.
In addition, Peskov said that they do not contribute to the promotion of the peaceful process and attacks in the Russian regions from Ukraine.
