Pharmacist From Russia Quit Work To Learn Turkish In Turning

31-year-old pharmacist from Russia Alina Volvak left a job to come to the Turkish city of Tokat and study the Turkish language as part of a summer school organized by the UNUS Emra Institute at the University of Gaziosmanpash.

In an interview with Anadol, Volvak said that for five years she worked as a pharmacist in her homeland, but decided to leave his position in order to completely devote herself to the study of the Turkish language.

“Turkey made such a strong impression on me that I decided to learn Turkish. I fell in love with Tokat. People here are very warm and hospitable. Dismissal from work was my own choice, and my family supported me. It was not a problem,” she said.

Alina admitted that it was not easy to learn Turkish, but she continues with enthusiasm. “I started with 500 words, now I know 6,000. Turkey is a country that I return again and again. I am happy that I came to the Tokat. It was the right choice,” the girl said.

She added that she told the management about her departure from work for participation in the language course.

Lecturer at the Department of Turkish and Literature of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences of Tokat University Merve Yilmaz also shared impressions.

“When we learned that Alina quit his job to study Turkish, we were surprised. Having met her closer, we realized how much she is a valuable person. What love she relates to our language and country is proud of us,” said Yylmaz.
