Pink Floyd founder canceled concerts in Poland due to Russian support

The founder of the legendary British rock band Pink Floyd Roger Waters canceled his concerts in Poland against the backdrop of indignation of his position on the war of the Russian Federation in Ukraine, Polish media reported on Saturday, September 24. In April 2023, the musician was supposed to perform in Krakow.

It is expected that next week deputies of the city council of Krakow will vote on the announcement of Roger Waters Persona Non-Grata. As the Associated Press notes, they decided to raise this issue against the backdrop of indignation of the musician’s position on the Russian war in Ukraine.

In September, the founder of Pink Floyd wrote an open letter to the first lady of Ukraine Elena Zelenskaya, in which he stated that “extreme nationalists in Ukraine put your country on the path of a catastrophic war.” He also criticized the West for the supply of weapons to Ukraine, expressing, in particular, accusations against Washington. NATO Waters accused of “provoking Russia.”
