Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski announced plans to revoke consent to the operation of the last active Russian consulate in Poland, located in Gdansk.
At a press conference, Sikorski emphasized that he had repeatedly warned Russia that if it did not stop “hostile actions against Poland,” its diplomatic and consular presence in the country would be reduced even further.
He noted that that Russia not only has not stopped “sabotage attacks” on Poland, but is also intensifying them.
“In this regard, I have decided to withdraw consent to the functioning (in our country) of the Russian consulate in Gdansk,” the Polish news agency PAP quotes Sikorski.
According to the head of the foreign ministry, this decision will be communicated to the Russian side in an official note within the next few hours.
After closing Consulate in Gdansk in Poland there will be only one Russian diplomatic mission – the embassy in Warsaw.
