Polish soldier who deserted to Belarus was hung

The Polish soldier Emil Chechko was found from Poland in Belarus found in Minsk, reports the Investigative Committee of Belarus.

“Today, the law enforcement agencies received a message about the discovery of the hung Emil Chechko at the place of residence in Minsk,” said Sputnik in the Investigative Committee of Belarus.

Investigators noted that forensic medical examination was appointed to establish the exact cause of death.

Message that the Polish soldier crossed the border and asked for political asylum in Belarus, appeared on December 17th. Then Chechko gave a number of interviews by the Belarusian state media.

The prosecutor’s office of Polish Belostok opened a criminal case against Chechko, a possible punishment – from year to ten years in prison. The soldier himself said that death threatens in Poland.
