Former American officials and experts among the possible venues for the meeting of the presidents of Russia and the United States Vladimir Putin and Joe Bayden called Baku. This was reported to the newspaper Politico.

As the edition notes, the media appeared in the media that the authorities of a number of European states had already proposed to accept the summit. Among them, points Politico, three countries that are accustomed to take such meetings: Switzerland, Finland, Austria. These countries are in a broad sense are considered to be “neutral” places for such events.

According to former American officials, as well as experts surveyed by Politico, should not be excluded from among the candidates of “dark horses”. Among them, the publication calls Reykjavik, Prague, Ljubljana and, possibly, Baku. The list of potential venues of the Reykjavik refer to some acting US officials.

As Politico notes, Iceland, although there is a further other listed states from the point of view of geography, and is also included in NATO, already has experience in conducting such summits. In 1986, the Icelandic capital took a meeting of the Secretary General of the Central Committee of the CPSU Mikhail Gorbachev and US President Ronald Reagan.

“Baku’s choice as a venue for the Summit of the Summit would be a non-sabrmed decision, but the chances of the fact that Biden will go to the Azerbaijani capital, as the publication writes, is small due to the likely negative reaction to this Armenia and Americans of Armenian origin,” writes Edition.
