Poll in Kazakhstan: Erdogan is most popular foreign leader

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is recognized as the most popular foreign leader in Kazakhstan.

This is evidenced by the results of a survey conducted by the Center “Demoscope” in 14 regions of the Central Asian Republic with the participation of 1,100 respondents in the age of 18.

The questionnaire contained the question: “What leader do you like?”.

Among domestic politicians, the current president of Kazakhstan Kasym-Zhomart Tokaev is most popular.

The most popular leader of the foreign state was recognized by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who gained 55.6 percent of the votes of respondents. This is followed by Russian President Vladimir Putin and President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.

Answering the question of “which country should Kazakhstan navigate its development?” 52 percent of respondents said that they need to adhere to their own course.

At the same time, 7.8 percent of respondents announced the need to navigate the issue of development to Turkey. This is followed by Japan – 6 percent, countries of the Middle East – 5.9 percent and Russia – 5.8 percent.
