Pope about Russia: when empires weaken, they need to wage war

The world is now in a state of world war, Pope Francis said at a press conference on board the aircraft upon returning from Bahrain, Ansa reports.

“Three World Wars took place in one century. When empires weaken, they need to wage war in order to feel strong, as well as selling weapons,” said Pontiff, implying a war in Ukraine.

Francis is not the first time talking about the Third World War. A few years ago, he said that the world “lives the third world war in parts.”
