Pope Leo XIV arrived on a visit to Turkey.
The plane carrying the head of the Roman Catholic Church landed at Esenboga Airport in Ankara.
At the airport, the distinguished guest was met by the Minister of Culture and Tourism of Turkey Mehmet Nuri Ersoy and other officials.
As part of the visit, Leo XIV will visit the mausoleum of the founder of the Turkish Republic, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk (Anitkabir), and will also hold a meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
