Preliminary investigation into case of leader of Armenian opposition completed

The preliminary investigation into the case of the candidate for prime minister from the opposition Movement to Save the Motherland Vazgen Manukyan has been completed, his lawyer Aram Vardevanyan wrote on Facebook, Sputnik-Armenia reports.

Vazgen Manukyan was charged under Article 301 of the Armenian Criminal Code (voicing public calls for a violent change of the constitutional order in Armenia).

Based on the case materials, Manukyan voiced similar calls during the rallies on February 12 and 20.

During the rally on February 20, Manukyan announced two plans developed by the opposition. The so-called plan “A” involves explanatory work with citizens, security officials, deputies – that is, everything that the prime minister relies on. Plan B is a quick seizure of power, but it will be used if the former fails.
