Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva sent a congratulatory message to Turkish athletes Giance Bektash and Gamza Altun, who won the golden and silver medals accordingly on the European heavy athletics championship.
The message expressed sincere congratulations to the athletes of the fraternal country.
“The whole Azerbaijani people pleased that you, having shown high skill, perseverance and will, raised the Flag of Turkey on a global scale and a march of independence sounded in your honor. We especially thank you for dedicated your victories to Azerbaijan. Once again, it confirmed that where there is no Azerbaijan, Turkey always represents us and supports our right -hand business. This is another manifestation of the indestructible Azerbaijani -Turkish fraternity. We are proud of you and we wish you many more new victories in the future, ”the congratulatory says in a congratulatory Epistles.
Earlier, Turkish athletes said they dedicated their victory to Azerbaijan.
April 14 at the opening ceremony of the European Warm -Athletics Championship in the capital of Armen, Yerevan, the flag of Azerbaijan was defiantly burned by an officially accredited face. Because of this incident, the national weightlifting team refused to participate in the competition and it was decided to return to Azerbaijan.
