The Istanbul negotiations are an important milestone in diplomatic efforts against the backdrop of the deepening destructive consequences of the conflict between the Russian Federation and Ukraine.
This was stated by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, speaking at a joint press conference with his Ukrainian counterpart Vladimir Zelensky in Ankara.
The head of state indicated that “the implementation of the Istanbul process on a comprehensive basis will help resolve acute issues problems.”
According to him, Ankara expects from all partners who want to stop the bloodshed in the region (the conflict between the Russian Federation and Ukraine) a constructive approach to the Istanbul process.
The Turkish leader also stated the Turkish side’s continued readiness to discuss proposals with the Russian Federation that will speed up the ceasefire and pave the way for a just and lasting peace.
