President of Azerbaijan: Before prosecutors of CIS member states are new and difficult challenges

Before the prosecutors of the member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) are new and complex challenges.

This is stated in the message of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to participants in the Baku of the 33rd meeting of the Coordinating Council of the General Prosecutors of the State Commonwealth of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).

The President noted that Azerbaijan, being an active member of the CIS, considers it important to increase efforts aimed at further strengthening this organization.

According to the head of state, the prosecution authorities have an exceptional role in ensuring and strengthening the rule of law and law and order, the fight against crime.

“Transnational organized crime poses a serious threat to the social, economic and political stability of each state. At the time when global and regional threats grow in the modern world, the prosecutors of the CIS member states are faced with new and complex challenges,” he emphasized.

The Head of State indicated that these threats require an increase in international law enforcement potential, joint activities to neutralize illegal networks, prevent traditional and new types of crimes, including terrorism, illegal trafficking in human, corruption, cybercrime, money laundering, etc. .

The President of Azerbaijan expressed confidence that the joint efforts of the meeting participants will make it possible to respond to the negative processes of our time, to ensure reliable protection of our states and citizens.

The Head of State believes that today’s meeting will give the impulse a reliable protection of human rights and freedoms in the region, uniting efforts in the fight against all forms of crime and more effective implementation of mutual cooperation.
